Multivariable-adjusted Cox regression models were used to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).During a mean follow-up of 14.2 years, 6939 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and 914 died of the disease. Dairy protein was positively associated with overall prostate cancer risk in the three highest fifths compared to the lowest (HRQ3 =1.14 (95% CI 1.05-1.23); HRQ 4=1.09 (1.01-1.18); HRQ5 =1.10 (1.02-1.19)); similar results were observed for yogurt protein (HRQ3 =1.14 (1.05-1.24); HRQ4 =1.09 (1.01-1.18); HRQ5 =1.12 (1.04-1.21)). For egg protein intake and prostate cancer mortality, no association was observed by fifths, but there was suggestive evidence of a positive association in the analysis per standard deviation increment. There was no strong evidence of associations with different tumour subtypes.Considering the weak associations and many tests, the results must be interpreted with caution.This study does not provide strong evidence for an association of intakes of total protein, protein from different dietary sources or amino acids with prostate cancer risk or mortality. However, our results may suggest some weak positive associations, which need to be confirmed in large-scale, pooled analyses of prospective data. 000181837 536__ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF4-313$$a313 - Krebsrisikofaktoren und Prävention (POF4-313)$$cPOF4-313$$fPOF IV$$x0 000181837 588__ $$aDataset connected to CrossRef, PubMed, , Journals: inrepo02.dkfz.de 000181837 650_7 $$2Other$$adietary amino acid intakes 000181837 650_7 $$2Other$$adietary protein intakes 000181837 650_7 $$2Other$$aprostate cancer incidence 000181837 650_7 $$2Other$$aprostate cancer mortality 000181837 650_7 $$2Other$$atumour subtypes 000181837 7001_ $$aHuybrechts, Inge$$b1 000181837 7001_ $$aOvervad, Kim$$b2 000181837 7001_ $$aEriksen, Anne Kirstine$$b3 000181837 7001_ $$aTjønneland, Anne$$b4 000181837 7001_ $$0P:(DE-He78)4b2dc91c9d1ac33a1c0e0777d0c1697a$$aKaaks, Rudolf$$b5$$udkfz 000181837 7001_ $$aKatzke, Verena$$b6 000181837 7001_ $$aSchulze, Matthias B$$b7 000181837 7001_ $$aPala, Valeria$$b8 000181837 7001_ $$aSacerdote, Carlotta$$b9 000181837 7001_ $$aTumino, Rosario$$b10 000181837 7001_ $$aBueno-de-Mesquita, Bas$$b11 000181837 7001_ $$aSánchez, Maria-Jose$$b12 000181837 7001_ $$00000-0002-9637-3869$$aHuerta, José M$$b13 000181837 7001_ $$aBarricarte, Aurelio$$b14 000181837 7001_ $$aAmiano, Pilar$$b15 000181837 7001_ $$aAgudo, Antonio$$b16 000181837 7001_ $$aBjartell, Anders$$b17 000181837 7001_ $$00000-0002-0904-0557$$aStocks, Tanja$$b18 000181837 7001_ $$aThysell, Elin$$b19 000181837 7001_ $$aWennberg, Maria$$b20 000181837 7001_ $$00000-0003-2237-0128$$aWeiderpass, Elisabete$$b21 000181837 7001_ $$aTravis, Ruth C$$b22 000181837 7001_ $$aKey, Timothy J$$b23 000181837 7001_ $$00000-0002-5652-356X$$aPerez-Cornago, Aurora$$b24 000181837 773__ $$0PERI:(DE-600)2659751-2$$a10.1002/cam4.5289$$gp. cam4.5289$$n4$$p4725-4738$$tCancer medicine$$v12$$x2045-7634$$y2023 000181837 909CO $$ooai:inrepo02.dkfz.de:181837$$pVDB 000181837 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)2036810-0$$6P:(DE-He78)4b2dc91c9d1ac33a1c0e0777d0c1697a$$aDeutsches Krebsforschungszentrum$$b5$$kDKFZ 000181837 9131_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF4-313$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF4-310$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF4-300$$3G:(DE-HGF)POF4$$4G:(DE-HGF)POF$$aDE-HGF$$bGesundheit$$lKrebsforschung$$vKrebsrisikofaktoren und Prävention$$x0 000181837 9141_ $$y2022 000181837 915__ $$0LIC:(DE-HGF)CCBYNV$$2V:(DE-HGF)$$aCreative Commons Attribution CC BY (No Version)$$bDOAJ$$d2021-02-02 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0160$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bEssential Science Indicators$$d2021-02-02 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1190$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bBiological Abstracts$$d2021-02-02 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0113$$2StatID$$aWoS$$bScience Citation Index Expanded$$d2021-02-02 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0561$$2StatID$$aArticle Processing Charges$$d2021-02-02 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0700$$2StatID$$aFees$$d2021-02-02 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0501$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bDOAJ Seal$$d2021-04-16T15:13:13Z 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0500$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bDOAJ$$d2021-04-16T15:13:13Z 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0100$$2StatID$$aJCR$$bCANCER MED-US : 2022$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0200$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bSCOPUS$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0300$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bMedline$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0320$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bPubMed Central$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0030$$2StatID$$aPeer Review$$bDOAJ : Double anonymous peer review$$d2021-04-16T15:13:13Z 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0600$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bEbsco Academic Search$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0030$$2StatID$$aPeer Review$$bASC$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0199$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bClarivate Analytics Master Journal List$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1050$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bBIOSIS Previews$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0150$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bWeb of Science Core Collection$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1110$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bCurrent Contents - Clinical Medicine$$d2023-10-26 000181837 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)9900$$2StatID$$aIF < 5$$d2023-10-26 000181837 9201_ $$0I:(DE-He78)C020-20160331$$kC020$$lC020 Epidemiologie von Krebs$$x0 000181837 980__ $$ajournal 000181837 980__ $$aVDB 000181837 980__ $$aI:(DE-He78)C020-20160331 000181837 980__ $$aUNRESTRICTED
