We searched PubMed and Embase until 28th February, 2022. An independent expert committee and expert panel graded the quality of evidence. A total of 167 unique publications were reviewed, and all but five were observational studies. The quality of the evidence was graded conservatively due to the high risk of several biases. There was evidence of non-linearity in the associations between body mass index and colorectal cancer prognosis. The associations appeared reverse J-shaped, and the quality of this evidence was graded as limited (likelihood of causality: limited-no conclusion). The evidence on recreational physical activity and lower risk of all-cause mortality (relative risk [RR] highest vs. lowest: 0.69, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.62-0.77) and recurrence/disease-free survival (RR: 0.80, 95% CI: 0.70-0.92) was graded as limited-suggestive. There was limited-suggestive evidence for the associations between healthy dietary and/or lifestyle patterns (including diets that comprised plant-based foods), intake of whole grains and coffee with lower risk of all-cause mortality, and between unhealthy dietary patterns and intake of sugary drinks with higher risk of all-cause mortality. The evidence for other exposures on colorectal cancer outcomes was sparse and graded as limited-no conclusion. Analyses were conducted excluding cancer patients with metastases without substantial changes in the findings. Well-designed intervention and cohort studies are needed to support the development of lifestyle recommendations for colorectal cancer patients. 000289936 536__ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF4-313$$a313 - Krebsrisikofaktoren und Prävention (POF4-313)$$cPOF4-313$$fPOF IV$$x0 000289936 588__ $$aDataset connected to CrossRef, PubMed, , Journals: inrepo02.dkfz.de 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$aadiposity 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$acolorectal cancer 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$adiet 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$aevidence grading 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$aphysical activity 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$aprognosis 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$asedentary behaviour 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$asurvival 000289936 650_7 $$2Other$$asystematic review 000289936 7001_ $$aMarkozannes, Georgios$$b1 000289936 7001_ $$aBecerra-Tomás, Nerea$$b2 000289936 7001_ $$aCariolou, Margarita$$b3 000289936 7001_ $$aBalducci, Katia$$b4 000289936 7001_ $$aVieira, Rita$$b5 000289936 7001_ $$aKiss, Sonia$$b6 000289936 7001_ $$00000-0002-4533-1722$$aAune, Dagfinn$$b7 000289936 7001_ $$aGreenwood, Darren C$$b8 000289936 7001_ $$aDossus, Laure$$b9 000289936 7001_ $$aGonzález-Gil, Esther M$$b10 000289936 7001_ $$aGunter, Marc J$$b11 000289936 7001_ $$aAllen, Kate$$b12 000289936 7001_ $$aBrockton, Nigel T$$b13 000289936 7001_ $$aCroker, Helen$$b14 000289936 7001_ $$aGordon-Dseagu, Vanessa L$$b15 000289936 7001_ $$aMitrou, Panagiota$$b16 000289936 7001_ $$aMusuwo, Nicole$$b17 000289936 7001_ $$aWiseman, Martin J$$b18 000289936 7001_ $$aCopson, Ellen$$b19 000289936 7001_ $$aRenehan, Andrew G$$b20 000289936 7001_ $$aBours, Martijn$$b21 000289936 7001_ $$00000-0001-5241-932X$$aDemark-Wahnefried, Wendy$$b22 000289936 7001_ $$aHudson, Melissa M$$b23 000289936 7001_ $$aMay, Anne M$$b24 000289936 7001_ $$aOdedina, Folakemi T$$b25 000289936 7001_ $$aSkinner, Roderick$$b26 000289936 7001_ $$0P:(DE-He78)a0c2037d9054be26907a05ae520d5756$$aSteindorf, Karen$$b27$$udkfz 000289936 7001_ $$aTjønneland, Anne$$b28 000289936 7001_ $$aVelikova, Galina$$b29 000289936 7001_ $$aBaskin, Monica L$$b30 000289936 7001_ $$aChowdhury, Rajiv$$b31 000289936 7001_ $$aHill, Lynette$$b32 000289936 7001_ $$aLewis, Sarah J$$b33 000289936 7001_ $$aSeidell, Jaap$$b34 000289936 7001_ $$aWeijenberg, Matty P$$b35 000289936 7001_ $$aKrebs, John$$b36 000289936 7001_ $$aCross, Amanda J$$b37 000289936 7001_ $$00000-0002-0198-1897$$aChan, Doris S M$$b38 000289936 773__ $$0PERI:(DE-600)1474822-8$$a10.1002/ijc.34904$$gp. ijc.34904$$n3$$p471-485$$tInternational journal of cancer$$v155$$x0020-7136$$y2024 000289936 8564_ $$uhttps://inrepo02.dkfz.de/record/289936/files/Intl%20Journal%20of%20Cancer%20-%202024%20-%20Tsilidis%20-%20Post%E2%80%90diagnosis%20adiposity%20physical%20activity%20sedentary%20behaviour%20dietary.pdf 000289936 8564_ $$uhttps://inrepo02.dkfz.de/record/289936/files/Intl%20Journal%20of%20Cancer%20-%202024%20-%20Tsilidis%20-%20Post%E2%80%90diagnosis%20adiposity%20physical%20activity%20sedentary%20behaviour%20dietary.pdf?subformat=pdfa$$xpdfa 000289936 909CO $$ooai:inrepo02.dkfz.de:289936$$pVDB 000289936 9101_ $$0I:(DE-588b)2036810-0$$6P:(DE-He78)a0c2037d9054be26907a05ae520d5756$$aDeutsches Krebsforschungszentrum$$b27$$kDKFZ 000289936 9131_ $$0G:(DE-HGF)POF4-313$$1G:(DE-HGF)POF4-310$$2G:(DE-HGF)POF4-300$$3G:(DE-HGF)POF4$$4G:(DE-HGF)POF$$aDE-HGF$$bGesundheit$$lKrebsforschung$$vKrebsrisikofaktoren und Prävention$$x0 000289936 9141_ $$y2024 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0420$$2StatID$$aNationallizenz$$d2023-10-21$$wger 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)3001$$2StatID$$aDEAL Wiley$$d2023-10-21$$wger 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0200$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bSCOPUS$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0300$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bMedline$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0199$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bClarivate Analytics Master Journal List$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1050$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bBIOSIS Previews$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0113$$2StatID$$aWoS$$bScience Citation Index Expanded$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0150$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bWeb of Science Core Collection$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1030$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bCurrent Contents - Life Sciences$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)1190$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bBiological Abstracts$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0160$$2StatID$$aDBCoverage$$bEssential Science Indicators$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)0100$$2StatID$$aJCR$$bINT J CANCER : 2022$$d2023-10-21 000289936 915__ $$0StatID:(DE-HGF)9905$$2StatID$$aIF >= 5$$bINT J CANCER : 2022$$d2023-10-21 000289936 9201_ $$0I:(DE-He78)C110-20160331$$kC110$$lBewegung, Präventionsforschung und Krebs$$x0 000289936 980__ $$ajournal 000289936 980__ $$aVDB 000289936 980__ $$aI:(DE-He78)C110-20160331 000289936 980__ $$aUNRESTRICTED
